Kerrang magazine reported this morning that Evanescence has officially started work on their third album. Frontwoman Amy Lee posted this message Saturday on their chatboard EvThreads.com: "The band is getting together to start pre-production on the new album this week! We can't wait. I'll be updating you as things move forward but that's all I can say for now! Stay tuned..."Sounds exciting. Even though Lee and guitarist Ben Moody had their very defined differences, and the original lineup of the band broke up before the release of Evanescence's second album, The Open Door, I still think that Lee makes the band. I'm sorry - there's just no bones about it. If you take that powerful voice out, what do you have? Some vague guitar riffs. We'll see how this album goes.
