My thoughts about the music of our time . . . the good, the bad, and the brilliant.

Hoppus' New Show
I've been hearing a lot lately about Mark Hoppus' (of blink-182 fame) show on Fuse TV, "Mark Hoppus on Music," but unfortunately, my cable is less than desirable and I don't get that channel. Anyway, I thought I'd let everyone know what's coming up this week: on Friday the 18th (tomorrow), Hoppus will be hosting Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie, with A Day to Remember performing.
I'm kind of upset about that, because I just recently started getting into Zombie. I heard the song "More Human Than Human" (a song made with Zombie's old band, White Zombie) on an episode of Psych the other day (weird, I know) and I was like, "Hey, I remember this song." So I started checking his stuff out. Turns out he's like the Renaissance man of horror. His music is so metal, in a creepy, deranged-woodsman sort of way that you don't really see anywhere else. Plus, he's directed and written screenplays to horror movies (including the remake of Halloween).
Alice Cooper is okay, but I've never really listened to much besides the iconic "School's Out for Summer." I will have to check some of his old stuff out.
As for A Day to Remember, I'm not really a fan of screaming through the entire song. I like some bands that do it, of course - such as Straight Line Stitch and Pantera, but I'm more partial to mostly singing with a little bit of screaming/barking thrown in, like Breaking Benjamin and Disturbed. A Day to Remember is okay, but you'll notice they're not on my profile list of favorite bands.
