According to billboard.com , Beyonce is due to receive the Billboard Millenium Award at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night. She'll be honored by a cadre of celebrities that include the First Lady, Barbra Striesand, Lady Gaga, U2's Bono, and Stevie Wonder. The award will recognize her achievement both as a singer for R&B group Destiny's Child and as a solo artist, as well as a Hollywood actress.
I think that for once, the industry's got it right. Beyonce definitely deserves an award like this. She's not one of those stick-thin superdivas like Paris Hilton. She's a real woman, with a real body, and she doesn't need an auto-tuner to make her voice sound good. She's got a lot of class (anyone remember her standing up for Taylor Swift after Kanye's psycho outburst at the VMAs?), and that's a rare possession in Hollywood. I say kudos to her.
