Cars to Release New Album

After 24 years, The Cars are getting back together. The band broke up in 1988, and lead singer Rick Ocasek says he "held out for 23 years", refusing to record another album, before he finally broke down and called his bandmates. Famous for such singles as " Just What I Needed" , "Let the Good Times Roll", and "My Best Friend's Girl", The Cars made New Wave music popular. Their eponymous debut album was voted one of the 500 greatest albums of all time by Rolling Stone.
The new album will be called Move Like This, and will include the songs "Blue Tip" and "Free". Bassist Benjamin Orr, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2000, will be replaced by bandmate Greg Hawkes for the new album. The guys are looking pretty old these days, and Ocasek said in a recent interview with Rolling Stone that they're not looking to tour anytime soon, but a new studio album is an intriguing thing. We'll see what they do with it.
